OYO GOV'S AIDE PRESENTS N.5MILLION CHEQUE TO THE DISABLED IN THE STATE

The Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Public Communication, Prince Dotun Oyelade today gave a cheque of N 500, 000 to assist the physically challenged persons in the state. During the symbolic presentation of the cheque which he said was the first installment, Prince Oyelade disclosed that the gesture was in fulfillment of his earlier promise that part of the proceeds from his book launched early this month would be used to assist the physically challenged people.

While presenting the cheque to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters, Barrister Ayodele Adekambi accompanied by the Chairman Joint National Association of Disabled Persons, Evangelist Olu Kayode, Prince Oyelade stressed the need for the physically fit persons to always impact positively on the lives of the less priviledged who he said were also created by God. He explained that every human being has one disability or the other pointing out that only God is infallible and impeccable.

The Special Adviser pledged to improve on his subsequent donations to the less priviledged people as pledges towards the book launch are redeemed. In his remark, The Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters, Barrister Ayodele Adekambi commended Prince Oyelade’s kind gesture describing it as a great encouragement for persons living with disability in Oyo State.

He said it was an historic event as nobody in the past had actually given any proceeds realised from any work to support the disabled. Barrister Adekambi who lauded the efforts of the State Governor Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala towards the welfare of people with disability in the State disclosed that the State government has increased the feeding allowance for schools of the disabled persons by 50 percent. He also added that significant number of Hearing impaired persons have been employed to contribute to the cleanliness of Oke Ado-Liberty road, Felele straight and Ring road-New Adeoyo road.

In his contribution, Evangelist Olu Kayode described Prince Oyelade’s support for the disabled as an unprecedented gesture in the history of the people with disability in the State.
