Oyo State Agency For Adult and Non-formal Education

The agency for adult and non-formal education [AANFE] was established on 15th November, 1987. The enabling edict was signed on 21th Febuary, 1988 and was published as edict 3 of 1988. It was  established to serve as as instrument for the eradication of illiteracy and especially as a source of enlightenment to raise the literacy level.

Our Vision

To eradicate illiteracy among the citizenry of Oyo state as well as providing early school leavers opportunities for continuing education.

Our Mission

To plan and execute programmes that will lead to the actualization of the agency’s vision.

Our Objectives

  • Organize and carry out literacy programmes including reading, writing, civic education and numeracy and vocational skills for adults in the state.
  • Developing such adults the ability to use skills acquired to enhance their social and physical environment in order to improve mode of living.
  • Develop in adults attitudes and commitments towards active participation in the transformation of social and political life of their immediate locality and nation at large.
  • Promote or undertake any other activities related to functional literacy in health education and agriculture that in the opinion of the agency are calculated to help achieve the purpose of the agency.
