Teachers from the Oke Ogun area of Oyo State have commended the Governor Abiola Ajimobi administration for its commitment to the welfare of workers in the state.
The teachers, under the aegis of The Progressive Teachers’ Forum, gave the commendation on Monday at a meeting with the governor over the appointment of an Education Secretary for the council area.
In their various comments, the teachers lauded the prompt payment of salaries and allowances of teachers and other categories of workers in the state, stressing that the payment of 13th month salary to the workers in the state was quite commendable.
“Teachers in Oke-Ogun have received their 13th month allowance approved by your administration. Oyo teachers have never had it so good in the history of the state. Your administration is really a welfarist one. It is the first to fully pay 13th month salary”, one of the teachers, Mr. Abiodun Adebayo, remarked.
The teachers, at the meeting, appealed to the governor to find lasting solution to the appointment of an Education Secretary in Kajola Local Government Area.
They also pledged their unflinching support to the Ajimobi administration, saying that they would continue to work towards the success of the administration.
Responding, Gov. Ajimobi pledged that his administration would not relent in its efforts at ensuring that teachers and other workers were provided with necessary incentives to improve in their job performance, assuring that salaries and allowances of workers would continue to be paid “even before they are due”.
